Get to know Dr. Kathleen Waite

About Dr. Kathleen Waite

Dr. Kathleen Waite has been providing primary care at Duke since 1993.

Her areas of clinical interest include preventive medicine and the management of chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, high
cholesterol and heart disease. She has a special interest in women’s health including menopause and osteoporosis.

Dr. Waite earned her medical degree at Duke University and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Duke. She is board
certied in Internal Medicine and was named a fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2011. She is an assistant
professor of medicine and is actively involved in teaching at Duke. She regularly volunteers at the local community health center that
provides care to the less fortunate.
